Our first two outreach initiatives brought vision screenings, visual aids, referrals and practical support to communities in Ghana.
ED-EYE Outreach screened 193 refugees from DR Congo, Ivory Coast, Sierra Leone, Liberia, Togo, Rwanda and Sudan. Medications and readers were dispensed, appropriate referrals were made to Saint Martin De Porres Hospital, and donations were made to the camp.
ED-EYE organized a donation and outreach session at the school, screening 177 students and staff. Over 50 free prescription glasses were provided. Donations included food items, brailles, braille sheets and white canes, while visually impaired students were encouraged in their academic journey.
